Unrealistic Expectations #2

I really enjoyed being accountable to you, dear reader, regarding my chore list from yesterday.  So, if you don't mind, I think I'll use the same tactic today!

I'm already ahead of the game with blog posting, so I won't even have to list that.  (Sometime soon, I want to be able to take some time to catch up on my blog reading, though:  I am soooooo behind on that!  But, that's such a treat that I don't feel I can include it in my To Dos.)

So, for today and in no particular order:
  • Water houseplants.
  • Situate broody mama hen in brooder (I'll take pictures and write about this later).     DONE!
  • 1 Hour Ironing if the sun stays out (that's the biggest sucker-of-electricity).   I'm actually taking this off the list because right now, at 3:20 PM, the batteries are only up to 80% full, and so any more sun that the panels absorb today needs to go to the electrical system instead of ironing!
  • 1 Hour Dishes & Kitchen Clean Up     DONE!
  • 1 Hour General House Clean Up
  • 1 Hour Deskwork   DONE!  (Plus some, 'cause, geez, those 60 minutes went quickly!)
  • 1 Hour Tax / Divorce Paperwork
  • 2 Billable (Business) Hours
There!  Now THAT seems more realistic than yesterday's list doesn't it?  I'll keep you posted.

(An aside:  as I write, I can hear a red-winged blackbird trilling outside.  Their call is my most favorite summertime sound on a hot day.  I especially enjoyed hearing them when Tom and I would go canoeing on the river.  He bought me a little solo wooden canoe a couple of years ago, and I have great - unrealistic? - hopes of making it "sea-worthy" and using it this summer!  We've never put it in the water, though, so I'm not sure just HOW MUCH work it will need!)

And now . . . ON WITH THE DAY!

  1. You iron? Kudos to you! I haven't ironed in over 10 years, lol!

  2. Erin, uh-oh. Are we gonna open that can of worms again? ;)

Mom and I have had this discussion MANY times online 'cause we don't understand HOW y'all can get by withOUT ironing! Heck, I KNOW your hubby needs to have his uniform perfect! Or is that all dry cleaning?

So, take me, for example, I'm wearing a linen shirt right now with Carhartt jeans (I'm NOTHING if not Paris runway-ready). If I didn't iron, the jeans would be wrinkly (but I can see them being okay if I'd used the dryer and then hung or folded them immediately), and you KNOW how linen is! How would I get my shirt looking decent w/o an iron? Huh, huh?!! ;p
