HOPPY EASTER!

Hoppy Easter, Friends!

I'm a wreck this morning . . . The Peanut's baby brother is ON HIS WAY!  I was hoping he'd be born today 'cause I want to be able to call him "Bunny" . . . and the wish is coming true!

I've been trying to write out Easter cards, and I'm so excited / nervous that my hands are shaking like an 80-year old woman's!  Ha!

Anyway, I hope you and yours have a wonderfully special day.  And/or if you're spending a quiet day at home, make it a lovely one, okay?  Take some TIME for YOURSELF!

xo Bopee!

P.S.  I don't think that anyone who reads this blog knows The Peanut's parents (and doesn't already know what I'm about to say), but, if YOU do, PLEASE don't try calling them today:  they are very protective of their time and space during these sorts of events.  Thank you!

Easter

Just a quick trip back in time two weeks . . . .

The Easter Bunny (my mom) outdid him/herself this year! Our baskets were overflowing with wonderful treats, and we each had our OWN plate of Mom's delectable homemade sugar cookies. Sadly for Tom, he only got about 1 cookie off of both plates combined . . . can't quite imagine what happened there! ;)

April Fools & The Joke's On Us!

Happy Easter Evening! I hope you had a nice, family-and-friend-oriented day with a yummy feast to top it off. (We did!) And, may the Easter Bunny have found you, wherever you are! (He even found us in the new house up here at Swamp River Ridge!)

But, as some of you may have heard, April Fool's Day came a couple of days late to us here in northern Minnesota. We'd been having truly beautiful spring weather. The snow was nearly all gone, even in the woods, and we had begun that annual ritual: dirty, filthy, all-the-winter's-yuck yard clean-up.

April Fool's Day brought freezing rain that coated every pine needle and branch, but it was beautiful and still spring. The ground was too warm to allow any freezing precip to stay.

Then, on April 3rd, it started snowing. And snowing. And snowing. We got about 8". We had to make yet another "final" run with the plowtruck. Then, the temperature started dropping. And dropping. By the 4th, it was 1 degree above zero. One. And, so it has stayed. Old Man Winter has returned with all the appropriate weather in attendance. Massive winds kept things interesting for about 3 or 4 days. Drifting was an issue where our winter driveway passes an inland lake. Yesterday things started evening out a bit, and the snow started melting from the roofs again during the height of the midday sun. But, we still haven't cracked 32 degrees since April 2nd, and evening temperatures hover in the single digits.

And just when we were beginning to think we could get the gardens in early this year . . . !
