7 May 2006: I know I must be on the edge of losing it, because, when we returned home from our run up to the property last Sunday evening and found this waiting at the back door, I dissolved into hysterical laughter! Miss Kitty, forced to find her own treat since we weren't home at 5:00 dinnertime, munched on this cute (but unlucky) little chipmunk. But, she was obviously very particular: eating everything but the little head and tail! Also on the way home that night, we saw our first black bear of the year! He/she looked very healthy and black as shiny black. Beautiful! Now, after wondering for some time, we know that the bears are out of hibernation!
