Brrrr!

It's -6 this morning and still falling.  Tomorrow's supposed to be our coldest AM of this "actually winter" snap.  BUT, I plan on still being snuggled up in BED vs. up and going at this hour!  Last night when I was out doing chores, the snow had that squeaky Polystyrene sound.  I love that!  But, there's NO doubt that the house is CHILLY this morning!  I don't take the time to build up the fire(s) in the morning, and, with the thermostat set at 58 during this time of energy conservation . . . well, you get the idea!

I had a good day yesterday in the sense of multi-tasking:  I spent my lunch hour with a website client at the local watering hole.  NOT the place where you go for good food: the place you go for quick food!  And, let's just say that the quick food didn't set well with me.  Maybe my tummy's still a little weak from last week's flu.  Yuck.  ANYway . . . we spent some of the time getting to know each other a little better.  He just (well, a year or so ago) moved up from the Cities to live with his love (Mama & Papa Pea's carpenter).  During the course of the "getting to know you", he asked how long I'd been single, and I realized . . . wow, it's 2 years TODAY that the ex left!  Two years.  Time is a FUNNY thing!  If someone were to ask how long I've been holdin' down the proverbial fort, single-handed, I'd probably say "oh, a year or so" if I didn't stop to think.  But, time does fly!

Today, I'll be spending my lunch hour in my old digs - where I had my office.  The Young One who worked in the office next to me is moving on, moving back, actually, to nearer her home on the Iron Range where she got a good, full-time job (as a Corrections Officer - eek!).  She'll move into the house her fiance owns.  He's 3/4 of the way through his 1-year Tour of Duty in Iraq.  As a going away gift, I'm going to give her a canvas print of an image she loves, 'Summertime on the Farm'.  I don't have a copy of that here on my laptop, otherwise I'd post the image.  So, without further ado, it's off I go to wrap it!

Happy Hump Day!

  1. It's amazing when we just take life day by day (sometimes hour by hour), how quickly it passes despite the hardships. Glad to hear you are feeling a bit better!!

  3. Sounds like your new schedule is starting to sync in - you sound ever so much more perky! I missed that! You keep your house at 58? That's a heatwave compared to LLF! "We" keep it at 55 while I'm at work or asleep. Not so sure how the doggies feel about it, but that's the way it is. - heehee, the WV is "Chilz"

  4. Glad you are feeling better! I say corrections officer, heck yeah! I'd do that in a heartbeat, and still may LOL! I got on here a couple of years ago but ended up declining due to the over an hour commute, it's tough when it's city traffic, yuck. Hope you get to cozy up in a warm bed soon and finish recuperating from the flu!
