Beautiful! Did you get the tree removed or hike in?
ReplyDeleteWOW! I hope that trees down is the worst of it, as in NO damage to the house or out buildings.
ReplyDeleteLove your header picture! Roads like that always makes me want to find out what's around the bend.
Hugs to you
Yvette
I LOVE your new header & picture. Stormy is right! Wow - makes the commute a bit more difficult, doesn't it? Hope all is well on the homestead.
ReplyDeleteErin, the tree was on the driveway, about 1/3 of the way in, and so I went cross-country (to get around it) Tuesday night and hiked in. Then I got it removed yesterday AM.
ReplyDeleteMtnChild, thanks - no damage to house, buildings, or anything else important. That heavy birch was down on the poultry yard fencing. Probably just as well that I no longer have any chickens right now 'cause they would have flown the coop! Fortunately, the geese are pretty lazy in that regard. The fence sustained a little damage, but not enough to complain about. Just regular wear & tear.
And, thanks to both you and Susan for the header photo props. I was hesitating even putting it up 'cause it's out of focus, but it did such a good job illustrating the weather! Susan, you're right: whether it's due to storms or wintertime, we often have things to deal with in our commute that many others don't! But, I'd take a downed tree ANY day over road rage or Erin's current neighborhood blechiness!
I'm glad that you posted a few pictures. It's national news, the storm, and since I read the StarTribune online I knew the winds would be high and snow near Duluth a possibility.
ReplyDeleteGlad that you're safe. Cheers~
