When All Else Fails . . . .

When all else fails . . . blog about the day's To Do list!

So, in no particular order (other than taking a break from staring at the computer after each 1 hour session . . . and I've already logged in a couple here):
  • 1 Hour Spent Doing Chores, Splitting & Hauling Firewood
    • Also photographed a new bird to ID and allowed myself a little playtime to update the Movie Reviews page.
  • 1 Hour Spent Updating Art Festival Website
    • Had to spend an extra 30 minutes on this because I couldn't walk away from it the way it was at 60 minutes!  Also got a fire going in the sunroom 'cause it's freezing in here, made some tea, and fed the fire in the kitchen cookstove.  Let me check the indoor temp . . . .  Whoo-hoo, it's up to 60.7°!  (Brrrrrr!)
  • 30 - 60 Minutes Away From Desk Doing Something Else
    • Began stocking the display rack with cards (decided to use ONLY vertical images rather than have people getting cricks in their necks from craning to see sideways), continued printing more out, returned a couple e-mails, designed sign for top of display rack (okay, so there WAS a little computer time), and went out to check the ill-behaving charge controller for the solar panels to see if it's working now that the sun is fully out (it's not).
    • After timer dinged, I went out to monitor the charge controller again and painted some tools with the green spray paint I'm using to identify the tools that are "mine" as Tom goes through and sorts them.  Thought about replanting lupines from field around garden to along both sides of front walkway.  Jotted down sayings for pre-printed notecards.  Just call me Mrs. Hallmark!  Made myself a sandwich for "lunch" (at 4:36 PM).
  • 1 Hour Spent on New Job (Computer Work)
    • Went long on this 'cause I had to take advantage of having the boss at the other end of my immediate e-mails.  Also squeezed in doing a tick check on Maisy (found one) and pulling some fish out of the freezer to make up for their dinner tonight.  I think another bag of dog food (the Chicken Soup for Your Soul brand) is making them sick.  Gave them both treats to tide them over.  As usual, Tucker asked to go outside so he could bury his.
  • 30 - 60 Minutes Away From Desk Doing Something Else
    • I ironed work clothes for my upcoming first in-office days.  This is the first time in my LIFE, really, that I've had to have "nice" work clothes!  I actually organized a separate drawer for "nice tops"!  Even when I was office manager for a small company, we would all have to chip in to get orders out the door, if necessary, so it was a waste of good clothes to wear anything nice there.  But, believe me, I know how FORTUNATE I am to be just now entering the must-look-nice work world . . . and you can bet I'm a little nervous about doing it well enough!
    • After the dinger dinged, I went outside to do chores and check on the electrical system.  Then I boiled up some fish from the river (last year's haul) for the dogs to have for dinner tonight and breakfast tomorrow.  That and some dry cat food will have to do them 'til I can get yet ANOTHER bag of dog food in the quest to find one that doesn't have a negative effect on them.  And, now I have a modified White Russian and a PB & J in front of me for dinner!  That's well-balanced, right?
  • Remainder of Time Spent Prepping Cards for Delivery Tomorrow
    • I guess I should have defined "remainder of time".  It's 3:35 AM (Wednesday), and I've just now gotten the rack of cards to a spot that I'm comfortable with.  So, I'll nab a couple of hours of shut-eye before I get on with tomorrow!  (Yes, I AM a night-owl!  Too bad there's gonna be an alarm in my near future.)
  • 1 Hour Spent Balancing Checkbook
  • 30 - 60 Minutes Away From Desk Doing Something Else
  • 1 Hour Spent on Web & Graphic Design Business
Resoundingly exciting, isn't it?!  (Ah-hem.)  I'll keep you posted.

  1. wow you are busy! I read your post yesterday but got called away from my desk before I could comment, so congrats on those notecards! Will you have them up on a site to look at? I have been so unexplainedly (word? LOL) tired the past 2 days, I fell asleep once and the kids got freaked out since I never, ever fall asleep during the day!

I am so excited to hear about your new job! Congrats! You will be great. It seems like in a time of great struggle, you have blossomed (do I sound like a teacher??).

  3. I wonder what my day would look like if I broke it down like that? I've never tried. I bet it really keeps you on task (sounds like it does)!
I think it is pretty normal to have sideways cards in most card racks, in case you are wondering. I don't think it will negatively impact people buying the cards.
