Time for an Update

Where to start? That's the problem when life gets away from me: I don't know where to start to catch you up!

But, my mom says that I can't post a cute picture like the two cute wolf pups without an explanation, so I'll do that.

Last Thursday on my way to work, I was about a mile up from the highway when I saw what I assumed to be a mama fox & three kits in the road. They were all pretty small, which is why I expected that they were foxes (vs. wolves).

As I drove closer, the largest (Mama) darted into the ditch . . . but the pups stayed, and played and ran and played and ran! They had NO interest in allowing me by, so I was more than happy to just sit there snapping pictures through the windshield!

In one of these shots, you can see some bare spots on the back of one. I'm choosing to believe that the hair loss is from the horrible bugs instead of mange. Either way, poor pumpkins!

But, what a neat experience, huh?!

Finally, I had to move on . . . and they tumbled into the ditch in the direction Mama had gone. I've been super careful driving through that area every time since, but I've seen neither hide nor hair! ;)

  1. Looks like they've been riding horses too long-look at those bowed back legs! What a neat experience for you. Thanks for sharing.

Did you get me question about Kelly Dupre shirts?

  2. Oh wow, that's so darn cool! Thanks for sharing that great story and pictures with us

  3. Those are awesome pics. Brandenburg, watch out!

  4. Melissa,

Yes, I DID talk to Kelly about the shirts . . . now I just have to forward that info to YOU! :) Oh, and "aargh matey"???? Did I miss a pirate somewhere?

    Claire, HA! Let's see: Chickenburg?

If you are familiar with me and where I live, please respect my right to retain some anonymity by not referring to me by anything other than Chicken Mama nor mentioning city/town/villages by place names. Thanks!
