We are new fans of Hampton Inns!
Seriously, if you're traveling and like to stay in the "big name" motels, the Hampton Inns are the way to go. We stayed in 3 of them during our four nights on the road. Generally speaking, they're under $100 (at least at this time of year), and they have terrific amenities including thick, comfy, cotton duvets instead of those plastic-y polyester "quilts" most motels get by with for bed coverings. The rooms are thick-walled and quiet, and there's good coffee for the in-room coffee makers . . . and good tea to choose from, too.
Anyway, just a heads up to you travelers out there. We used to be Holiday Inn Express people, but we've converted!
P.S. We stayed at Hampton Inns in Durango, CO; North Platte (I think!), NE; and Brookings, SD.
