"Home" in Sedona

Hi. It's me, but I can't even think.

We got "home" here in Sedona probably about . . . oh, 2+ hours ago. I've since got Tom settled in bed, and, last I heard, he was snoring. That's a very good sign. Especially considering how hard it was to get him situated in a "normal" (non-pneumatic hospital) bed.

Umm, that's it, I guess. More tomorrow. Truly, since we got here and I knew I could finally let down . . . I have. It's 10:47 PM Minnesota time and 8:47 Sedona time. I'm goin' to bed.

But, THANK YOU ALL!!! We feel the love. And I'm not just being silly. I mean it.

Thank you.

  1. Gave me quite a fright when I saw the picture you emailed. Thank goodness the blog is being updated so I knew what happened.

Tom, Tom, Tom . . . equipment malfunction with major ouch! Thank goodness you had a helmet on. Wishing you a speedy recovery. I think Chicken Mama would have been okay with you staying longer. But I guess this way you got her to join you.

This is no way to enjoy sunny AZ.

  2. Sorry, sorry, sorry-- I haven't been on my computer in a few days and had no idea what transpired in the meantime.

Thank God Tom is alive and recovering from such a horrendous fall. And, oh, thank Goodness for friends, doctors, and pillows to help you get your own, much-needed rest!

This has been a hard (utter understatement) year for Northern homesteaders all around, but there are some things NOBODY should have to face or endure. I hope, during your enforced Arizona "vacation," in between doctor visits and wound care, etc., you at least get a chance to bask in the relative warmth, soak in a hot tub somewhere, eat food you don't have to cook, and just let yourself rest in the good graces of others, personal work ethic be damned!

  3. Better living through chemistry Tom. Even when you think you can get off the pain meds...don"t! You might decrease the amount but not the frequency. Take it from someone who knows all too well all too recently.
    Be Well,

If you are familiar with me and where I live, please respect my right to retain some anonymity by not referring to me by anything other than Chicken Mama nor mentioning city/town/villages by place names. Thanks!
