10 December 2005: You may have to enlarge this picture to properly see it, but this is what happens when chickens (particularly roosters) refuse to go into the chicken house to roost. In sub-zero temps, their combs and wattles freeze, and the skin starts dying. This rooster's wattle was previously very large and droopy. Notice how black and shrunken it is now. Same with the tips of his comb.
