28 September 2005: Our timber framer drills the holes for the oak pegs that will lock the knee braces into the mortises of the upright posts. Tom stands at the ready. (Our timber framer introduced us to the snooty name for pegs: trennails - pronounced TRE-nulls - and came to rue the day since Tom and I have been referring to them as that every since. Sounds kinda nice, doesn't it? Trennails. Much fancier than 'pegs'!)
