20 August 2005: We found TONS of crawdads (crayfish) in the Pigeon (or "PEE-shone", as the French lad says). If we'd caught and saved them, we could have had one heck of a jambalaya! And, for the second time - in as many visits to the river - we were startled by yet another set of canoes (six young women this time) rounding the corner and heading down to the big lake. Perhaps we won't be living quite as remotely and alone as we'd expected! (At least not in the summer!)
