I've been fighting a slight fever and have been under the weather, so we've been staying pretty close to home. We got over an inch of rain yesterday - but what's new?!
Last night when I did some late chores around 10:00 it was still light enough to walk without turning on the flashlight. And, this morning when the roosters were crowing at 4:30 a person could see plainly in the dawn. What a change from mid-winter when it's still dark at 7:00 a.m. and pitch-black by 4:00 p.m.! You sure can tell that the solstice is just around the corner!
And, the animals remain on the move: yesterday when we were delivering eggs (Chicken Mama's Organic Eggs) we saw a small black bear gallop across the highway. He/she had a very shiny coat and looked to be in spring-prime condition!
