I want to post today, but it will have to wait until later (ergo my "famous last words"). There's a late-winter storm imminent that's supposed to dump 2-7" of wet snow on us. So (!), I need to get outside to get some things done this AM before that (if it) happens!

Your dad and I have been doing the same things this morning . . . battening down the hatches, putting away tools, filling the wood box . . . in preparation for the predicted "not nice" weather. I figure if we're all set and ready for it, we will get nary a snowflake. And right now, that's just fine with me!
ReplyDeleteSnow, hugh? Man.....you sure you don't want to move a bit farther south?? Sweating up a storm in the gardens this afternoon.
ReplyDeleteCR, there is NOTHING I hate more than sweating. (Well, okay, biting insects & spiders.) Sweating is . . . just GROSS! Aaagh! HATE it! So, I looooooove cold and cool weather. Anything about 70 is too hot for me!!! ;)
DeleteFunny picture of spring cleaning, especially in light of the big snowstorm predicted. I see she's not wearing pearls, but I bet she's cleaning in high heels and nylons-with a seam up the back of her leg.
ReplyDeleteYou've got that one right! Okay now, those of you old enough to remember . . . or have parents from this era . . . DID women actually dress like that - at HOME?!
DeleteWhew! Glad I'm here and not in your area! I went outside today and had to come in when it got too warm in the sun. Now it's cool enough in the house that I'm thinking about starting a fire. Good luck weathering this storm. Hope it's not too bad.

It wasn't (too bad). Of course. I only got about 3" here at Swamp River Ridge. BUT, I was late to work two mornings later because it had rained all night on the newly-packed-down snow on the main road . . . making it WORSE than an ice-skating rink!
DeleteSO JEALOUS! We did not get one good storm this year in Mpls.
ReplyDeleteElizabeth
Yeah, I *AM* thankful for the halfway decent winter I got here "up over the hill" even in comparison to the rest of the county!
DeleteWell, why you up north woods people watch for the flakes to fly tell your friend Elizabeth we might be in for a good one tonight ,if the weather man is to be believed.STAY WARM,HAVE ONE OF MOMMA'S HOT TODDY'S JUST TO BE ON THE SAFE SIDE.
ReplyDeleteWhat's next, locusts?? Hope it's not as bad as they predict.
ReplyDeleteI love it that you posted the radar map. When we're in for a good storm, or in the middle of one, I go to our local TV station's radar and take screen shots of the radar map. They are so awesome. Hope you're staying warm!
ReplyDeleteMollie, I'm a *TOTAL* weather nerd! One of the gals I like best at work (a "young one" at 29 years old) is a total weather freak, too, so it's very fun. Although, the mixed-rain-and-snow that was falling 2 hours south of town (and 3 hours south of me here) last night never made it up this far. Nary a drip nor flurry.
