Uber Short!

This'll be REALLY short:  I allowed myself two snooze alarms this morning.  :)

I had a meeting last night with a graphic design client who now wants a website!  Whoo-hoo!  And, he and his partner (Mama & Papa Pea's carpenter, B) are really fun to work with AND they invited me to dinner:  red wine; a thick veggie soup with wild turkey and topped with melted swiss, and homemade tomato basil bread.  And, a HUGE strawberry cream cheese pie for dessert!

I was a coooold drive home, though:  it's still well below zero, and I didn't get to Swamp River Ridge until after 10:30 . . . and well past my bedtime.  I haven't even looked at the thermometer yet this morning, but a friend living about 90 minutes southeast of me just posted on Facebook that it was -28 when her man went off to work at 4:30 - less than two hours ago.  It's not that cold here, but, after a point, cold is just cold.  Still, I LOVE winter, and I think my folks were a little amused yesterday when I walked into the house to drop off the dogs, cheery over the weather AND another blue-sky day!  I can only hope that Mother Nature will bless me with another sunny day tomorrow, a day off, so I can take advantage of the free energy.  The LP company thinks I'm almost out of gas again, so I'm living very low-energy (also again) . . . hoping I can squeak by without running out until they deliver on, I hope, Tuesday.

And, with that, I gotta git.  I hope it will be a quick day at work:  I'm working on organizing my departments now . . . currently trying to consolidate (I have a HUGE selection of gift bags in the "party" area, but they were in three different spots including stashed in the upstairs dungeon - you can't sell what customers can't see!) and clean and newly arrange.  I wish there was a way for me to show you Before and After shots, but me standing there taking picture might be a little . . . boastful (to my new employers & fellow employees) . . . if not obvious!  Still, I'm proud of the progress and changes I'm making in my big corner of the large store.

Happy Saturday!

  1. Only 10 below here this morning. Felt good since they had forecast 15 below! Everything is relative.

Your dinner last night sounds yummy. B is a good cook and her cream cheese pies are to die for so I know it was a wonderful meal.

Hope the business meeting was profitable!

  2. One of the things I have always loved about your new workplace is how things were stashed here and there and everywhere - a bit like a treasure hunt! No doubt your way will make it much more efficient and profitable however :)
