I came home from a long day in town last night with a pickup filled with all the salvage from Mama & Papa Pea's (de)construction project. Trash for them, treasure for me: MANY cabinet & cupboard doors; some good, long counter tops and a cabinet base unit that will fit PERFECTLY into an area of the kitchen. And all that needs to be OUT of the truck by 9:00 this morning.
But, I was tired. Really tired. And it was muggy and warm out and the mosquitoes were buzzin'.
So, I took a gamble that it wouldn't rain last night and left the load for this morning.
Well, it didn't rain. It POURED.
Now I have a pickup full of WET cabinetry and counters. Sigh.
You win a few, you lose a few. Good thing I made a STRONG, full pot of coffee this morning!
Love the new header picture!
ReplyDeleteWell shoot! They'll dry. Right? Besides, those skeeters are plenty healthy without your help.
errrr
Ack!
ReplyDeleteHere's hoping for some nice bright sun to dry them all out again for you!
we have some cooler weather on the way--hey! I'm sure you will get it first. when I SEE THE WEATHER OF THE STATE ,MY EYE ALWAYS SHOOTS UP TOWARDS YOU AND MOMMA ,NEVER FAILS NICE COOL TEMPS WHILE WE ARE STILL HOT AND STEAMY AND AFTER SEEING APGS VIDEO I CAN JUST HEAR HER TELLING YOU "YOU'LL GETER DONE" REAL CUTE LIKE
ReplyDeleteWe're in the same boat with this one, only maybe your boat leaks more than mine. I think my mistake may have been easier to fix, and no mosquitoes.
ReplyDeleteI left the freshly dried onions outside in a tub during the previous rain. They got a good soaking, so now they're spread all over the dining room table with a fan blowing on them. :/
I think they'll make it.
I pray your cabinet doors, etc. will dry without warping, and only look more interesting in a good way! :)
I hope you get some good weather, mosquitoes are a real buzz killer LOL. It was beautiful open window weather for 4 days here, enough to get fall fever, but today, back to muggy and high 80's, blech!
ReplyDeleteMy gawd your mother is gorgeeous! I love the header! Well, my dear, we have all done this. It comes from being bone-tired and hopeful. I, myself, HATE skeeters and would leave my Aunt Minnie out in the rain if push came to shove. Of course, I don't have an Aunt Minnie, so I'm safe. Get some good, strong coffee in you and put them someplace to dry.
