More Miscellany

Today's my work-from-home day but, before I get going there, I thought I'd update you on my Saturday and Sunday (here we go again:  that's YOUR Monday and Tuesday!).

I made myself a list of what I wanted to accomplish.  Most things took more than an hour, and I had 23 items listed.  (Insert hysterical laughter!)  But, even with allowing myself lie-ins both days (AND today), I really got a lot done and was able to scratch 11 items off my list (although, to be fair, I only worked an hour each on the ones that required more time, so those will go back on the list).

But, here's one of the things that had been bothering me a lot lately:  the dining room table.  This is what it looked like:

Disastrous!  Plus, loads of clean laundry piled here and there, waiting to be folded and put away.  And, Christmas wrapping (paper) still out?!  The New Me cringes, The Old Me fist pumps, "Yesssssss!"

So, there's still that yellow bag of paperwork needing to be sorted through, but "Ha!  Take THAT, Old Me!"

I converted the fish aquarium into a hothouse terrarium and got some seeds started.  Also started some basil inside, too.

The front yard's melting progress (taken yesterday):  it's gettin' there!  Next weekend, off with the snow tires!

 
On Sunday afternoon, I conscripted Mama Pea into service to help me hang some gallery mounts and canvas wraps in the large foyer of a good friend's office building.  It's a GREAT place for exposure (yuk, yuk, pun intended) although the walls (PINK?!  Note:  not his choice!) are bad and the light is wonky in the space.  Still, it's another place in town to have my work seen!  You can go here to read Mom's post about the afternoon.  She was a HUGE help!  Thanks, Mooma!!

The area I covered in black is the first wall you see as you walk in.  This would have been the ideal place to hang most of the pieces, but it's also where his huge business sign resides.  And, for some reason, he didn't want that covered up!

I'm not thrilled with the layout of the three pieces at the top right.  It's the bottom picture that bothers me.  Once I order an appropriate (new / different) one in that size, I'll change this one out.

If I can find the right one, I'll get a large (24" x 36") canvas wrap to go on the blank wall at the top here.  I'm also going to add a small table with a counter-top card display.  I'm hoping those will serve as a great impulse item, especially for those folks who accompany a client of my friend's in to the space but have nothing to do while they wait.  (Make sense?)  Too, I see that I should have put something in this picture for a size reference.  Perhaps Mama Pea?  ;)  The sunset image, to give you some idea, is 2' high x 3' wide (although it certainly doesn't look it here).
