I was surprised, but not unpleasantly so, to find the first dusting of snow this morning! I'll try to post pictures tonight, but no promises: I've got a pretty full day in front of me.
Happy October 21st!
Photo Follow-Up
Snow on the deck while the rising sun wakens the valley.
Snow on the lilac bush.
And, assuming I didn't lie, proof of the date of the first dusting of snow for Winter 2010!
Are you kidding?!!! Yay! Here I was worried with the weird summer everyone was having that there would be no snow when we come! :)
ReplyDeleteAnd here I thought you were talking about housework...;o) Hope your day goes fast and well.
ReplyDeleteSusan, hahahahahahaha! I didn't even think of *THAT* interpretation!
ReplyDeleteI'm home now - was in the Twin Cities the last two days - and am excited to post soon!
Oh, and Erin? Sadly, we HAVE had some brown Christmases these last couple of years, but I've ordered up a Currier & Ives one for this year!
Haha! I was wondering what you'd decided to dust! :) Did you have fun with our girl in the big city?
ReplyDeletePatty, I *DID* have fun . . . but I'm exhausted! Remind me to never go shopping with an 18-year old again. Even a super mature one!
ReplyDeleteI know I have mentioned this before, but the view off your deck is to die for! Enjoy the fall weather up there while it lasts:)
ReplyDeleteHi Chicken Mama,
ReplyDeleteI've just finished reading ALL your archives from the beginning. I admire your lifestyle and your get 'er done attitude.
I'm in Oregon, outside Klamath Falls, and I woke up to our first (1") snow this morning. I sure hope everyone gets a normal winter this year.
Hugs
Yvette
Yvette / MtnChild, WELCOME!! You'll fit right in to our group 'cause . . . YOU'RE NUTS to have read this blog from the beginning! ;) Seriously, how long did it take you? I'd love to do the same one of these days / years.
ReplyDeleteYou had a solid inch for your first snow? What a great way to usher in the first hints of winter!
When I was little, I remember looking out the big south window of the livingroom, trying to convince my mom (Mama Pea) that the precipitation coming down WAS, REALLY the first flurries of the year. I used to get *S0* excited, I remember! And, it's still one of the "firsts" each year that I look forward to with anticipation!
Well I'm nuts just like mtnchild! I read it too LOL
ReplyDeleteErin, welllll, we already knew YOU were nuts! ;) How long did it take? I'm tempted to go back and post (re-post) my very first entry.
ReplyDeleteIt took me awhile, because when I would get to the techie-solar, etc stuff and pics of the house, Charlie would say "oh wait, I wanna see"! Probably took a couple of evenings :)
