Tuesday was the 32nd birthday of Bundle of Joy's daddy, and we celebrated by watching her mama feed Bundle of Joy her very first solid food! She took to it like a champ! I just posted the video on the 'Home Movies' page (click the link [below the header photo above]).
The Birthday Boy got his requested "cake": a Banana Cream Pie. I make it twice a year: once on April 30th for my mom, and once on June 8th for him. And my new trick to a THICK cream pie? Goose egg yolks. They are SO rich and so firm! (Getting the crust to stand up straight while baking is another story entirely.) There were 6 of us adults, and suffice it to say, I took the pie pan home later that night . . . almost so clean that it hardly needed washing! :)
I had a visit from this little guy (gal?) on Tuesday. I didn't get any decent pictures, but hopefully these will be enough to help me identify him. A cursory glance suggests that s/he's a Blackburnian Warbler, but, like I said, I haven't yet properly IDed him.
Okay, on with the day.
Sounds like a good time at the birthday! Beautiful bird and.... holy cow where did you find Corona in a CAN?!! Must be a Canuck thing up there, LOL!
