As my mom wrote (thank you!), we made it only to Walsenburg, CO yesterday - despite traveling nearly the whole day (thru a blizzard).
This morning, we drove north instead of our desired route of east. But, this succeeded in getting us out of the snow after about 75 miles.
Tom had his most uncomfortable day so far on the road, but he felt better tonight than this morning, so we count ourselves grateful for small favors.
We're in North Platte, Nebraska tonight and have traveled from deep snow and horrible roads to green fields! What a change! This country continues to amaze us!
We're hoping tomorrow night finds us within the Minnesota border . . . .
Holy crap, that's A LOT of snow!! I'm glad to hear you've left it behind and hopefully the rest of your journey will be uneventful.
