Snow, Ho, Ho!

For some dumb, aggravating reason, Blogger is not letting me spread good cheer today by posting all our pictures of snow that I took this morning!

I got just this one uploaded just fine but haven't been able to load anything since. Hmph. I started the process at 12:42 PM, and it's now 4:35 PM! (And it's dark - Happy Solstice!)

Anyway, yup, we got more snow yesterday and last night. 'Bout 8", I think. Friends of ours closer to the lake got about 18" (!!!), so it was definitely Lake-Effect Snow - a very real phenomenon around Lake Superior.

I took this shot of the front yard before we got any plowing done (thank goodness for back-up plows!). As you can see, our stone entrance is rapidly disappearing this year!

More pictures to come as Blogger allows . . . .

  1. Just found your videos on YouTube -- loved them! Your view from your back deck is incredible... and I love your chicken yard set-up. I might be asking you for advice, come springtime. And I gave a cheer for your Yaris -- we have our own clown car (a Matrix) that I think we've seriously underestimated this winter! Keep the videos coming :)

  2. You know - I think the ONLY thing that's made our Yaris so good in the snow is the tires we got for it. We bought some aggressive Nokian all-season tires. I'm purty sure we wouldn't have been able to pull the 1-Ton if we weren't able to get the traction that we did with those tires.

  4. Hmph! Where'd it go?!

    Andrea, I wrote a long reply to welcome you . . . but it went . . . away?

Anyway, I went to your blog and read your post about the Christmas star and your dad making one for you. If I was a "cryer", I would have. What a wonderful story!

But, WELCOME, and I hope you become a regular reader! It's great to meet folks this way!
