We found out yesterday that the good car - the green Forester - which we just put $1,300 into to replace the head gasket is dead. Done for. One step away from "the crappie flop", as our mechanic put it. In case anyone is counting, that's both our cars done. Worth (basically) nothing.
Today, the septic system overflowed at the downstairs toilet and in the kitchen sink. The tank is not draining into the septic field. The septic guys can be out tomorrow to drain it. Then we figure out why it's clogged. Meanwhile, we'll pee outside . . . .
Good thing we're living "the simple life".
