Haven't Written

I know I haven't written in a while, but that's because the last 48-72 hours have just been horrible. HORRIBLE. At the end of my very frayed rope horrible. And, naturally, no one feels much like talking (or writing) during those times!

In short, our emotions rocketed because the shower, tub, and toilet were FINALLY going to be installed in the master bathroom. Today marks exactly 5 months that we have lived here without being able to take a bath or shower in our own home. Yesterday was the momentous day - a truly spectacular way to celebrate Valentine's Day!

. . . Excepting for the one little fact that the day before, on Tuesday, the septic line froze. So, in these balmy temps (we haven't seen over 13 degrees during the day since the 1st), we have been required to piddle outside (very "refreshing" last thing at night or first thing in the morning in your bathrobe!) and do our other business in a bag-lined commode. Niiiiice.

I'll follow up / finish that story along with the posted pictures.

On the up side, spring is coming! The sun is beginning to warm and makes SUCH a difference during the day! The snow actually has melted away from dark, warm, south-facing exterior walls. And, the birds are starting to think about mating and breeding which means vibrant colors and amazing spring songs for us bird watchers. We heard the first "song of spring" come from one of the winter regulars as we lay in bed early yesterday morning.
