28 March 2006: We had the neatest moose experience recently! When we were driving in to the property a week ago Tuesday, we saw several bald eagles and crows or ravens in the trees less than a mile from our place. Seeing that many carnivorous birds congregated all together usually means one thing: carrion. Sure enough, not 20' off the road, we found a dead moose that was just becoming exposed by the melting snow. By the size of his body, we guessed it to be a yearling, but my dad thinks it must have been older based on the size of its hooves - compared here to the size of Tom's hand.
