Headnets, that is.
I had to get some measurements up at the property last night, so I packed up a quick dinner, loaded Maisy in the car, and we were off. FORTUNATELY, I also packed my bug jacket for the first time this spring.
Because . . . THE BUGS ARE OUT! The blackflies are FEROCIOUS, and poor Maisy was just attacked until I sprayed her. Gone are the days of naps in the hammock under the trees. Gone are the days of a picnic dinner . . . unless you're inside a screened-in porch which, happily, Tom built onto the trapper cabin. Until August, Eau de Cutters, being covered head-to-toe, and headnets and/or bug jackets are the fashion of the season.
